MISSION
The Governmental Affairs Committee will establish
and enhance relationships with governmental
officials, provide information and obtain input from
our member on governmental issues relevant to them;
recommend advocacy positions and communicate the
Chamber’s viewpoint to our membership and elected
officials.
Continue to build relations and improve
communication between Chamber leadership and public
officials
Use chamber website as an information source for
Governmental Affairs information
Develop a legislative agenda for Haywood County that
communicates strong and consistent positions for
businesses
Determine key business issues and develop chamber
positions as needed
Host annual Elected Officials Reception
Plan roundtable session(s) with Elected Officials to
discuss issues of importance to area businesses
