2005-2006
MISSION
The Business and Community Development Committee
will provide, awards, recognition, education,
communication opportunities and
resources to assist Chamber members in operating
successful businesses in Haywood County.
Recognize the first Business Start-Up Competition
recipient
Organize a Press Conference to announce Business
Start-Up competition
Explore additional funding opportunities for
Business Start-Up competition
Continue to recognize a Haywood County Chamber of
Commerce member Business of the Month
Research and develop guidelines for Committee of 100
Initiate a dialogue and open line of communication
with representatives from area municipalities to
better understand set policies and communicate those
policies to our members
Organize activities to recognize Small Business
Month (May)
Facilitate bi-monthly meetings between chamber
leadership and business owners
Continue relationship with Haywood Community College
and High-Tech Center offering opportunities for
business development
Coordinate programming with other business
organizations to better assist new and existing
businesses i.e.; SCORE, Mountain Microenterprise,
SBTDC, and REAL
