Chamber Offices Closed
The offices and visitors' center of the Greater Haywood County Chamber of Commerce will be closed on Friday, July 4 in recognition and celebration of Independence Day.

Waste Reduction Partners Quarterly Meeting
The Waste Reduction Partners (WRP), will hold its Summer Quarterly Meeting in the conference room at Land-of-Sky Regional Council (LOSRC) at its new location at 339 New Leicester Highway, at Leicester Crossing. The meeting will start at 10:30 a.m. and conclude at about 2:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided.
Guest speaker for this meeting will be Dr. Jack Britt, Consultant to Oak Ridge National Laboratory Partnerships Directorate. His topic will be “Oak Ridge National Laboratory – A Look at Science in the 21st Century.” The meeting will also include brief reviews of current WRP activities, as well as information on upcoming events of interest to the group.
WRP is a group of about 45 retired engineers and scientists who use their expertise to provide technical assistance to local businesses, industries, and institutions to improve water efficiency, energy efficiency, and solid waste disposal. Retired engineers interested in learning more about the program or joining the WRP team are invited to attend this informative meeting and be our guest for lunch. The Greater Haywood County Chamber of Commerce is accepting pre-publication commitments from member businesses. There will be approximately 20,000 maps printed, and they will be distributed (resale and complimentary), to residents and visitors of Haywood County through the year 2011.
By committing to a minimum purchase of just 200 maps, you will be able to purchase them in advance for just $2 each (retail of $5). In addition, your business will be index-referenced on the appropriate municipality or rural area detailed road map. There is no display advertising on these maps - strictly information.
This is the most accurate and up-to-date map available. It is more detailed and correct than any online mapping system, and is actually more accurate than governmental agency maps.
