This workshop will help the business owner identify ten survival strategies that you can implement right now to be more competitive with big box retailers. Explore how to capitalize on drive by traffic. Find out why customers aren't shopping with you...but wish they were. Learn how Big Box technology is changing the way you'll do business in the future. Who says you can't compete against the huge national chains?  Discover the chinks in the big-box armor.  Learn how you can develop offers that your customers can't refuse and the chains can't touch. The presenter of this workshop is Russ Seagle of Seagle Management Consulting.

To pre-register or for more information, call the Small Business Center at 828.627.4512 or the Haywood Chamber at 828.456.3021.

Greater Haywood County Chamber of Commerce - 2008 Legislative & Public Policy Agenda

The Haywood County Chamber of Commerce’s 2008 Legislative Action Agenda represents the Chamber’s commitment to creating an improved business climate and quality of life for Haywood County.  It addresses top areas of concern for its over 600 member businesses.

The issues in this agenda are based on feedback received from community stakeholders and the Chamber’s membership.  Committee members and staff provided expertise and perspectives to evaluate these issues and their potential impact on businesses and the community.  The Chamber’s Board of Directors adopted the agenda in early 2008, empowering the staff and volunteer leadership to communicate these positions to key policymakers at the local, state and federal levels.

The Chamber strongly believes these legislative recommendations will help lead to a thriving economy for local businesses and an enhanced quality of life for all citizens.
